This weekend will be the third in a series of public consultation meetings where people can respond to Nottingham City Council’s proposal to review its operation of Victoria Market.
This is to save estimated running costs amounting to £39m over the remaining 50 years of the current agreement. Consultation began Monday 25 April and will end on Sunday 5 June.
Anybody interested in the proposals is invited to Victoria Market on Saturday (21 May) between 10am and 11am to discuss any issues, and to ask any questions. They can also receive help to fill in the consultation questionnaire (either a paper copy or online), or have their questionnaire completed for them by a member of staff.
Acting Portfolio Holder, Cllr Linda Woodings, said: “We
have received a really good number of responses to the consultation so far with
some interesting ideas for the future, all of which will be taken into
consideration. I think people have found the public meetings so far, very
useful and they have welcomed the chance to speak to our team for more
information and to get support in recording their views.
“We would also like to welcome people who perhaps don’t speak English as a
first language. There will be support available at these meetings to assist
them with understanding the issues and completing the survey.”
There will be one final opportunity to meet on Victoria Market – on Monday (23 May) between 1.30 and 2.30pm.
