Nottingham’s 60-foot flag has been unfurled on the Council House in preparation for St George’s Day next Tuesday.

The flag, believed to be the largest in the country, measures 60ft by 26ft (18m by 8m) and covers most of the building’s frontage. Its installation has been sponsored this year by SCAPE and signage company John E Wright and Co Ltd.

Councillor David Mellen, Leader of Nottingham City Council, said: “The St George flag is an iconic sight to behold when in place on the front of the Council House. Many thanks to both SCAPE and John E Wright for their support in sponsoring it this year.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone celebrating next week a very happy St George’s Day.”
