Interest in tickets for the new Titus: T. rex is King exhibition to launch in July has been so high (weekend tickets in July have almost sold out) that organisers have launched an additional Exclusive Premier Event for those eager to claim that they were the very first to meet Titus.

Titus will be the first real Tyrannosaurus rex to be exhibited in the England for over 100 years. The exhibition will officially open its doors to the wider public on Sunday 4th July at Wollaton Hall Natural History Museum in Nottingham to reveal the skeleton of Titus and an immersive experience of digital and interactive media displays that takes visitors from his discovery in the Montana Badlands in the USA, and through the journey of excavation and curation.

Just 100 tickets will be available for this unique event on Saturday 3rd July and will be released for sale on Thursday 17th  June via the Wollaton Hall website. The ticket price of £50 includes a conversation with palaeontologist Dr. David Hone and an exhibition Goody Bag of Titus merchandise worth over £30.

Dr David Hone, Senior Lecturer in Zoology at University of London and renowned palaeontologist, plays a key role in the Titus: T. rex is King exhibition team, and will be the host for the premiere event, taking guests on a ‘A Walk with Titus’. It’s an unmissable opportunity to learn from the UK’s top expert about the biology of the largest land carnivore to have ever walked the planet and why the T. rex was King of the Dinosaurs.

Rachael Evans, Museums Development Manager at Nottingham City Museums and Galleries, said: “We have been so overwhelmed by individuals, families and school groups keen to be among the first to see Titus, that some slots, especially those at weekends, have already sold out. The demand has prompted us to organise this special one-off premiere event for just 100 people to mark the century since a real T. rex was last exhibited in the country.

“It promises to be quite an extraordinary occasion for those who manage to secure a ticket.”

Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Schools, Cllr Eunice Campbell-Clark, said: “We are thrilled that the exhibition Titus: T. rex is King has seen a great deal of interest from visitors booking into the exhibition in advance, and that as a result we are welcoming visitors with the release of an exclusive premiere event too.

“It will be a unique experience to witness the skeleton of a T. rex and to delve into the world of Titus, and it is wonderful that it will be enjoyed at Wollaton Hall by visitors of all ages.”

To comply with Covid-19 regulations in place, arrival times will be staggered with 11.00a.m., 12.00p.m. and 1.00p.m. slots available to purchase. Visitors will be required to wear face masks throughout, unless exempt.
