Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out essential planned carriageway resurfacing work on Sneinton Boulevard to ensure it remains safe for all road users.
Work will begin on Monday 30 July for approximately five days, 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Councillor Dave Liversidge, Nottingham City Council’s portfolio holder for Transport, said: “The upkeep of our roads is vital for people to travel safely and smoothly around the city. Our annual maintenance programme aims to keep ahead of the game, and address the condition of our roads before they become a hazard.
“We know that life doesn’t stop while repairs are underway, so resurfacing of Sneinton Boulevard has been scheduled off-peak and during the school holidays when roads tend to be quieter. We want to keep disruption for residents to a minimum, and thanks for bearing with us while work takes place.”
During the work, Sneinton Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Thurgaton Avenue to Baden Powell Road, so people are asked to allow extra time for any journeys. A local diversion will be in place (see map attached) and access to side streets will be restricted at times, however residents will always have access to their property, albeit with some delay.
Due to the nature of the work, on-street parking will also be restricted within the works area. These restrictions will only be in place between 8am and 4pm each day and notices will be placed as a reminder of the parking restrictions at least 24 hours before the enforcements begin. All other parking will be in place for use within these times. It is vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure they are not parking in restricted areas.
