Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out essential planned resurfacing work on Wilford Lane to ensure it remains safe for all road users.

Work will begin on Saturday 4 August and will take place on Saturdays and Sundays over five weekends during the summer 8am – 6pm.

Councillor Dave Liversidge, Nottingham City Council’s portfolio holder for Transport, said: “The upkeep of our roads is vital for people to travel safely and smoothly around the city. Our annual maintenance programme aims to keep ahead of the game, and address the condition of our roads before they become a hazard.

During the work, Wilford Lane will be closed to through traffic so please allow extra time for any journeys. A local diversion will be in place, with different routes for inbound and outbound traffic (Maps can be found here), this will be clearly marked on street for motorists to follow.

Access to side streets will be restricted at times, however residents and businesses will always have access to their property, albeit with some delay at times.

Due to the nature of the work, on-street parking will also be restricted within the works area. These restrictions will only be in place between 8am and 6pm each day and notices will be placed as a reminder of the parking restrictions at least 24 hours before the enforcements begin. All other parking will be in place for use within these times. It is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure they are not parking in restricted areas.
