Cerebral Palsy Sport are delighted to announce Carillion plc as the lead sponsor for the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games Volunteer Games Starter Programme. August 2015 will see Nottingham host the return of the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association’s World Games, a platform that allows athletes with cerebral palsy from across the globe to complete against one-another.

The sporting activity will be split across two key sporting venues; Nottingham City Council’s new iconic Harvey Hadden Sports Complex and the Nottingham Indoor Bowls Centre, with the Games village being at the Nottingham Trent University City Centre Campus. To stage such a large scale event requires the fantastic contribution by a large workforce of volunteers. With one year to go in August 2014, Cerebral Palsy Sport started the search for the 300 Games Starter Volunteer required to deliver a special Games in the summer. Many dedicated volunteers have come forward and many have Games experience from London 2012 and Glasgow 2014 and will be supporting our Games in Nottingham.

Carillion Plc are delighted to be supporting the Nottingham 2015 Volunteer Programme as the company has taken such a pivotal role in the development of the new Harvey Hadden Sports Complex as the main construction contractor onsite. The new build includes the construction of a new 50 metre swimming pool, new fitness facilities, squash courts and an extended athletics track facility.

Ali Talbot, Chief Executive of Cerebral Palsy Sport said, “These Games will be a wonderful event which we hope will inspire young people with cerebral palsy to get involved in sport. It will be our Games Starters Volunteers who will help make these Games a wonderful experience for everyone involved, from the athletes through to the spectators. We are delighted that Carillion are supporting our Games Starters as a sponsor for the volunteer programme”

Paul Reynolds, Carillion Operations Director said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Volunteer Games Starter Programme, which will be a key part of the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games.

“As the construction company involved in building the new facilities at Harvey Hadden, we are proud of the new complex and believe it will be a fantastic venue for this world class event and we wish all the Games Starters and competitors the very best of luck in what will be a most memorable experience.”
