New Health and Wellbeing Hubs will soon be visiting neighbourhoods across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire, offering a range of free services to support citizens.

In partnership with the NHS, the new hubs will provide information on:

  • Covid-19 vaccines, including helping you book appointments
  • Healthy lifestyles and choices
  • How to make your money go further
  • How to find and use your local health services
  • How to improve your wellbeing by spending time with others

The Health and Wellbeing Hubs will be based in key locations throughout the city and county. They are replacing the community testing mobile units that have now closed following the ending of free universal symptomatic and asymptomatic testing for the general public in England. The Hubs can be quickly repurposed for Covid-19 testing again if an outbreak occurs in the city or county.

Councillor Adele Williams, Portfolio Holder for Adults and Health at Nottingham City Council, said: “We are pleased to be able to use this resource to provide health and wellbeing advice to citizens. Our friendly supportive team will be on hand to provide free information and support on a range of services to help citizens lead a happy and healthy life.

“We know that people’s financial situation can be a major barrier to living in good health. This issue is becoming more acute with every year that passes. That’s why we have put money right at the heart of our health and wellbeing strategy. There is nothing more important than your health but it is really hard to live well if you are always worrying about money. Being able to feed you and your family well is really important to good health and lots of people struggle with that, however hard they work.  The new health and wellbeing hubs will be a local doorway to access the support needed to get money worries under control, and to live in better health.”

Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “We are very pleased to be working closely with our partners across the healthcare system to bring Health and Wellbeing Hubs to key locations in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The new hubs will be able to provide a range of different services to the public and it is important that we are able to work together to benefit the communities in the city and county. If you have any questions or concerns about your health, where to access services, the Covid-19 vaccination or how to book appointments then why not start by having a friendly chat at your nearest hub to find out more information.”
