The City Council has thanked Notts Police, Nottingham people and its own community protection and street cleaning teams after protests in the city centre today concluded peacefully.

Councillor Rebecca Langton, Portfolio Holder for Communities, said: “Now that that the protests which took place in our city centre today have concluded, we’d like to thank Nottingham people for their co-operation and patience.

“Thanks to Notts Police for their work to ensure the protests remained peaceful and also thanks to council staff, particularly in community protection and street cleansing, who have helped provide community reassurance and clean up.

“Nottingham City Council remains committed to tackling inequality and bringing communities together. We know that we are stronger when we remember we have more in common than anything that divides us.”
