There will be rolling road closures on and around the route of the Aviva Tour of Britain cycling event on Saturday 18 June. Nottingham City Council is asking people on the routes affected to plan their journey, either to arrive at their destination prior to 10.30am, or to wait until after 10.50am, when the cyclists should have passed through all city areas.

Tram services between Royal Centre and Old Market Square will also be suspended, between 8.30am and 11am on Saturday 18 June. A replacement bus will take passengers between stops, and the tram network will operate as normal on either side of the city centre.

All morning road closures will also be in force in the roads around Old Market Square, including:

  • From 05:00hrs  until  12:00hrs  –  closure  of  Wheeler  Gate,  Hounds  Gate  and  Friar  Lane  (east  of Spaniel Row) to all traffic
  • From 08:30hrs  until  11:00hrs  –  closure  of  Victoria  Street,  Bridlesmith  Gate,  St  Peter’s  Gate, Cheapside, South Parade and Beastmarket Hill, to all traffic (including trams)
  • From 10:00hrs to 11:00hrs – closure of Market Street, Angel Row and Mount Street to all traffic
