If you’re not already registered to vote, you need to do so by midnight on Tuesday 26 November if you want to take part in the General Election on 12 December.

Anyone wishing to vote by post needs to make an application by 5pm on the same day – 26 November.

With the mail likely to be busy in the run-up to Christmas, Nottingham City Council – which administers the election for the Nottingham East, North and South constituencies- is encouraging anyone with a postal vote not to leave it until the last minute to send it.

If you’re registered to vote, you should have already received a polling card for the General Election.

If you’re not yet registered, it’s quick and easy to do at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
