The finishing touches will be applied to the new pedestrian crossing on Canal Street this week.
Works were substantially complete by the time the Broadmarsh Bus Station closed, but were paused to assess bus and traffic movements in the area as a result of the changes to the junction and bus station.
Due to no adverse impact on traffic, the City Council will return to complete the works to the kerb line during off peak hours (9.30am – 3.30pm) and evenings this week, finishing on Friday 14 July with the potential to complete works on Sunday if not substantially complete by Friday afternoon. This will involve a lane closure on Middle Hill, heading east to the London Road roundabout, and on the new pedestrian island on Canal Street, heading west towards the Castle.
Some delays are expected due to the times the works will take place and are in keeping with the rest of the programme so far.
