Belgian flags are flying at half-mast on Nottingham Castle and the Council House in sympathy for those who died in yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Brussels.

A book of condolence will also be opened today (March 23) at the Council House, whose dome will be lit in the colours of the Belgian flag from tonight.

Nottingham City Council Leader, Councillor Jon Collins, said: “Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the people who have been affected by these horrific, senseless attacks. As a city, we stand in solidarity with the people of Brussels and Belgium.”
