The Leader of Nottingham City Council, Councillor David Mellen, has responded to the death of a 17-year-old boy yesterday evening in Radford.
“It’s a tragedy that a young person has lost their life in such a violent, senseless way. All our thoughts are with family and friends who will be trying to come to terms with losing a loved one.
“I would urge anyone who may have information that could help the Police with their investigation to come forward.
”There has been a concerted effort in the city and county between the councils, the police and other partners to tackle knife crime through enforcement and education. Although this has started to have a real impact, sadly tragic incidents like this show that we can never be complacent and there is much more work to be done.”
