Roadworks currently taking place near Nottingham Racecourse roundabout will be suspended to ease traffic flow for the Detonate Festival taking place this weekend at Colwick Country Park .
Road improvements are currently underway along the A612 Daleside Road / Colwick Loop Road, with traffic management arrangements in place.
But the City Council is ensuring no work will take place on Friday 9 June from 4pm or all day on Saturday with all traffic and pedestrian movements remaining the same prior to the works starting. Traffic needing to access the event or Racecourse Road will be directed once they have entered the Racecourse car park. This is to ease the flow of traffic that is expected for the Detonate festival on Friday evening while event attendees get dropped off at the venue.
This event may cause traffic build-up and so motorists are advised to be aware of the potential for delays and to use alternative routes if possible. The arrangements being put in place aim to ensure the roadworks don’t contribute to delays and that traffic is managed at peak times.
