British No. 2 – Dan Evans

British number two Evans, 26, who featured for Great Britain in their Davis Cup quarter-final exit on clay against France at the weekend, will headline this years event at the Nottingham Tennis Centre alongside women’s world number seven Johanna Konta.
The Aegon Open, which runs from June 10th to 18th, features a combined men’s and women’s event for the first time in 44 years.

Evans, the world number 44 who uses Nottingham as a training base, made it to the last 16 at the Aegon Open last year and then went on to reach the round of 32 at Wimbledon, where he was beaten by Roger Federer.

Evans said, “I can’t wait to get back to playing on home soil and in front of the home support. It’s my favourite time of the year and I want to put on a good performance during the grass court season. I’ve played at Nottingham a lot over the years and I always have fun playing there.”
