Nottingham City Council’s Annual General Meeting will be live streamed for the first time next Monday, 12 May.

The meeting will take place in the Council House, but residents can watch proceedings from the comfort of their own homes, as it live streams through the Council’s YouTube channel

The agenda is available on our website, and will include the election of the Lord Mayor, appointment of the Sheriff, as well as the announcement of changes to the Council’s Executive Member and portfolio areas, and making appointments to all of its committees, joint-committees and regulatory boards.

Beth Brown, Director of Legal and Democratic Services, as well as Nottingham City Council’s Monitoring Officer, said:

“The AGM is a really important day for the Council, as sets the political leadership for the next 12 months. But this year we have the added excitement of live streaming the meeting for the first time.

“It’s a really important step in ensuring transparency and inclusivity in our decision-making processes as a Council, and making it accessible to as many people as possible.

“This is the first time we’ll be streaming live from the Council Chamber, so we don’t expect it to be perfect, but we’ll be rolling out improvements in the coming months and look forward to making democracy more accessible to all.”
