Nottingham City Council is ensuring that there’s plenty to do for the whole family in Nottingham city centre this New Year’s Eve, Wednesday 31 December 2014.
The Old Market Square will have plenty to offer for visitors, with the Winter Wonderland open for food and drink, as well as the chance to enjoy a spot of ice skating, with the ice rink open until 9pm.
For little ones, there will be an earlier children’s fireworks display at 9pm in the Old Market Square. Around the Winter Wonderland, families can also enjoy a number of children’s fairground rides such as the traditional Carousel and Santa’s Toy Ride, and street entertainers, including costumed jugglers.
The Old Market Square will also be the perfect place to hear the Council House clock chime midnight and look towards the Castle to watch the annual fireworks display.
The grounds of Nottingham Castle will also play host to live music and entertainment, with performances by The Fab 4 Beatles tribute band, and the Gorgeous Chans. There will be a bar and food and drinks stalls serving inside the grounds. A spectacular fireworks display from the Castle Green at midnight will be the perfect finale to see in the New Year.
Entry to the event is free from 8pm, but the event has limited capacity: turn up at the Castle gates on the night – first come first served.
Those unable to attend this event will still be able to enjoy the spectacular fireworks display at midnight which will be visible across the city.
