Nottingham City Council is inviting artists, community groups, cultural organisations and schools to apply for grant funding through its new Cultural Investment Fund, which will support a wide range of cultural activities taking place across the city during the 2026/27 financial year.

The fund aims to strengthen neighbourhood pride, celebrate Nottingham’s rich diversity and create more opportunities for residents of all ages to engage with arts, culture and heritage activities in their communities.

Grants of up to £5,000 per project are available to support initiatives that bring people together through creativity and culture.

The programme will fund a variety of activities, such as creative workshops for children and young people, community-led cultural events, heritage projects, small-scale festivals, artistic commissions, or projects that help local people attend museums, galleries, theatres and other cultural experiences.

The fund is open to:

  • Community and voluntary organisations
  • Cultural and arts organisations
  • Festival and event organisers
  • Education providers and youth organisations
  • Community groups
  • Individual artists and freelance creative practitioners

Projects awarded funding must take place during the 2026/27 financial year and be completed by 31 March 2027.

Councillor David Mellen, Executive Member for Leisure, Culture & Tourism at Nottingham City Council, said: “Culture plays a vital role in bringing communities together, celebrating local identity and creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and be inspired. Through the Cultural Investment Fund, we want to support the fantastic work already happening across Nottingham while encouraging new ideas and creative projects that make culture accessible to everyone. We are excited to invest in the people and organisations helping to make Nottingham a vibrant and inclusive cultural city.”
