Nottingham City Council will be helping city residents again by providing another £1 million of food Supermarket vouchers providing extra support for vulnerable people over the winter months through the Government’s Household Support Fund (HSF).
Another 10,000 vouchers worth £100 will be available for residents to apply for in the next application window from 10am on 1 December to midnight on 7 December. Residents can apply for these even if they have already received a voucher from the HSF scheme since April 2025.
Changes have been made to how residents can access Supermarket and Energy vouchers which will enable more people to apply and receive support.
Qualifying residents will be selected on a random basis after the closure of the application period. This process will apply to Supermarket vouchers. Residents will receive confirmation whether they have been successful or not via email by Friday 12th December.
Councillor Cheryl Barnard, Executive Member for Children, Young People and Education at the Council, said: “I’m really pleased that a further £1m of support has been made available to the most vulnerable residents in Nottingham to help with bills over the winter months.
“As households have grappled with the increased cost of living over the last several years, this extra funding will help to ease the burden for those households most impacted at a time of year when costs are typically higher.
“For households that are continuing to struggle financially, our website also provides plenty of further advice and avenues for support that may be available, including through other schemes and organisations.”
All Supermarket Vouchers Codes issued must be redeemed within 4 weeks or they will expire and not be re-issued – Information on how to redeem your Supermarket Voucher is available here
