People are being invited to the final public meeting to discuss proposals for the city’s Library Service.
Nottingham City Council launched a wider consultation event at the end of May, which runs until Monday 19 August. This has so far generated more than 3,400 responses from residents and local partner organisations.
The authority is continuing to urge people to take part in the survey, available both online and in libraries. It’s crucial to gather a wide range of voices, opinions and experiences to accurately reflect the thoughts of everyone who lives, works or studies in Nottingham.
A final public meeting is being held at Nottingham’s Council House, in Old Market Square, on Thursday 15 August from 2pm to 4pm. There will be an opportunity to:
- Understand more about the savings needing to be found within the Library Service and why these are necessary
- Ask questions directly to the Leader of the Council, Councillor Neghat Khan, and the Executive Member for Carbon Reduction, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Sam Lux
- Share thoughts and ideas
Councillor Sam Lux said: “We need to think creatively about the way we can continue to meet the needs of Nottingham residents and deliver a comprehensive library service. It’s important that as many people as possible participate in the consultation process and play a role in shaping the future of Nottingham’s library services.”
