Residents of Oliver Close have welcomed enforcement action taken by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Police to tackle persistent anti-social behaviour and criminal activity linked to a property in the area.
The action follows ongoing complaints from local residents and intelligence gathered by Nottinghamshire Police regarding suspected drug use, nuisance and disorder associated with a property on Oliver Close.
Nottingham City Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team and Housing Services worked closely with Nottinghamshire Police to investigate reports of anti-social behaviour and take action to protect the local community. The case demonstrates the commitment of partner agencies to improving neighbourhood safety and ensuring residents can enjoy their homes without fear of nuisance or disorder.
On 13 July 2026, a Closure Notice was served on the tenant. Two days later, on 15 July 2026, Nottingham Magistrates’ Court granted a three-month Closure Order, preventing access to the property and bringing an immediate stop to the activities that had been causing significant distress within the local community.
Residents present during the enforcement action expressed relief that action had finally been taken and hope that the closure would bring lasting improvements to the area. Many said the issues had affected their quality of life for several months and welcomed the decisive response from partner agencies.

This successful Closure Order demonstrates the strength of partnership working between Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Police and sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour and criminal activity will not be tolerated.
“We will continue to use all available powers to protect our communities and support residents affected by persistent nuisance and disorder.”
