The City Council’s promotion for paperless Council Tax billing has been a great success, with 1477 signing up during the month long campaign to get their Council Tax statement by email rather than in the post.
The promotion offered the chance for one household to get a month’s free Council Tax. The lucky winning resident, from Mapperley, will save £120 from their payments.
Councillor Graham Chapman, Nottingham City Council Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Resources and Neighbourhood Regeneration said: “It’s great news that so money people signed up for paperless Council Tax billing. Ebilling saves money, is convenient and is quick and easy to set up. It is also better for the environment. There are now 10,237 households signed up. This will save the Council £3,392 in postage and paper and we hope that more people will sign up in the future to save even more money.”
Although the promotion is now closed, you can continue to switch to going paperless. You will need to have your name and address as it appears on your Council Tax Bill, your eight digit Council Tax Number and your ten character On Line Key as shown on your latest Council Tax Bill or Notice.
Go to the Council Tax pages on the City Council website and select the ‘Start button’ under ‘Account Details’ to sign up.
