Nottingham City Councils Planning Services Team have been named East Midlands Local Planning Authority Team of the year at The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Regional Planning Awards.

The awards, held at the Nottingham Contemporary last night (Thursday 2 March 2017) recognise and celebrate those who have excelled in planning in 2016 and have made a positive impact on planning and development. Winning entrants had to demonstrate a problem solving approach to planning challenges, and high quality planning outcomes.

Councillor Jane Urquhart, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Housing at Nottingham City Council said, “I’m really proud that Nottingham City Planning Services has been recognised at The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) East Midlands Planning Awards. This achievement is testament to the dedication and hard work of the team, who are at the forefront of delivering Nottingham’s growth agenda, as well as shaping our communities and safeguarding the places we value.”

The awards, hosted by the Chair of the RTPI East Midlands, Michael Braithwaite said: “These awards celebrate some excellent achievements in the planning profession. I am very proud of the positive impact that town planners in the East Midlands have had on our built environment over the last year”.
