The spectacular New Year’s Eve event and fireworks display, sponsored by Purico, will return to Nottingham Castle on Saturday 31 December.

The Castle grounds will host live music and entertainment from 8pm, with a bar and food and drinks stalls inside the grounds.

The Bandstand will feature music from 8pm until ten to midnight, with performances by:

  • The Half Eight from 8.10pm to 9.10pm

Energetic Pop/Rock – catchy melodies, soaring harmonies and punchy rocky guitar

  • Ready Steady 60s from 9.50pm to 11.50pm (including interval)

From Merseybeat to Carnaby Street – reproducing the iconic sounds of the 60s

Entry to the event is free, with the doors opening at 8pm.  The event has a limited capacity of 2,500, so visitors will be admitted to the Castle grounds via the Gatehouse on a first come first served basis, one in one out.

The children’s fireworks display starts at 9.15pm and will be set to a superhero-themed musical soundtrack designed for a younger audience.

The main fireworks display will take place at midnight and will be accompanied by a spectacular soundtrack including popular chart hits and special effects – the perfect way to see in the New Year.

Those unable to attend this event will still be able to enjoy the fireworks display which will be visible across the city.

The Gatehouse area of the Castle grounds will feature fire jugglers and performers from 8pm onwards.

Cllr David Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council, said: “Nottingham City Council is proud to be able to provide a fantastic free New Year’s Eve celebration at Nottingham Castle for the people of Nottingham. We would like to thank our sponsor, Purico Group, for helping us to put on this event, and also Pains Fireworks for providing the spectacular fireworks.”
