Junction improvements will take place from Monday 12 February to improve traffic flow on the Southern Relief Route.

Work at the Waterway Street/Wilford Road and Castle Meadow Road/Wilford Road junctions will take approximately 8 weeks. To minimise traffic disruption, the works will take place during off peak hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend work with turning restrictions in the area.

When completed, this route will improve traffic flow by providing extra capacity at the two junctions on the Southern Relief Route, which is becoming a more important route in the city as a result of changes in the Broadmarsh area.

Leader of the City Council, Councillor Jon Collins, said: “2018 is going to be a big year in this part of the City Centre and these improvements will help keep Nottingham moving whilst the Broadmarsh area redevelopment is taking place.”
