Nottingham City Council’s Corporate Director for Resident Services Frank Jordan is leaving the authority to take up a post at Cambridgeshire County Council.
Mr Jordan joined the council in September 2021 from his previous role as Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director for Place at Cheshire East Council.
He has been in post as the council implements a recovery and improvement plan to find fresh ways of delivering vital local services efficiently and effectively. He started his career at Newcastle City Council and previously also held a senior position at Leicester City Council. He has accepted the offer of a new role as Executive Director of Place and Sustainability at Cambridgeshire County Council and will leave the City Council at the end of March next year.
Chief Executive Mel Barrett said: “Frank has played a vital role in the senior management team at the City Council at a time of significant change, challenge and improvement. He brought with him a wealth of experience of leading corporate transformational change programmes, which has been of enormous help in moving the council forward. We wish him well in his new role.
City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen said: “I would like to thank Frank for the contribution he has made in a huge range of services that are vitally important to our residents. I am disappointed to see him go but wish him well for the future.”
Mr Jordan added: “It has been a privilege to be a Corporate Director at Nottingham City Council and I have particularly enjoyed working with colleagues, members and partners who have the shared aim of delivering effective services and securing the best possible outcomes for Nottingham and its people.
“However, this new opportunity has come to light which will enable me to provide leadership in relation to the place and sustainability agendas across a significant county geography and I look forward to joining colleagues in Cambridgeshire at the end of March.”
