World-class tennis will again be served up for a good cause this summer, as 100% of gate receipts from one day of the Aegon Open Nottingham will go to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

All proceeds from tickets sold for the first day of the main draw event on Monday, June 12 will go to the tournament’s official charity.

People can pay any price they desire from £3 to watch the glittering field of stars who will assemble for the tournament, which includes a WTA International and $150K ATP Challenger Tour event, headlined by Britain’s World No. 8 Johanna Konta and GB Davis Cup ace Dan Evans.

There will also be a host of activities happening on Charity Day Monday and spectators can contribute to the cause throughout the tournament by giving to Rainbows staff and volunteers.

To mark the Aegon Open Nottingham’s ongoing partnership with Rainbows, a group of children who benefit from their care have got on court themselves for a coaching session at the Nottingham Tennis Centre, which is the host venue of the major pre-Wimbledon lead-up event.

A group of youngsters also have the opportunity to be mascots for the men’s doubles final on Saturday, June 17 as they lead the players onto centre court.

Kate Golding, Head of Individual Giving at Rainbows, said: “Once again, we are delighted to be working with everyone at Aegon Open Nottingham for this exciting partnership. Last year was fantastic and more than £18,500 was raised for Rainbows during the tournament; we can’t thank the tennis fans enough for their kind support.

“This year, our youngsters are thrilled to get the chance to enjoy some personal tennis coaching, it is a wonderful opportunity. We look forward to the tournament and the designated Rainbows day and thank everyone involved for supporting us.”

George Donnelly, tournament director for the Aegon Open Nottingham WTA event, said: “The tournament is delighted to be partnering with Rainbow’s for a second year. The work they do in the Midlands area is inspirational and I am pleased we are able to support in a number of ways this year, but particularly with the ticket proceeds on the Monday and facilitating a tennis experience for some of the children and families.”
