A significant step forward has been made in getting investment into Clifton with the announcement that Stephen Hackney, Pastor of Hope Church in Clifton will be the Chair of the Clifton Town Board, a new Board established to implement projects in Clifton using Government funding.
Now that a Chair has been appointed, anyone with an interest in Clifton can submit an expression of interest to join the Board, they will need to do this by 12pm on Friday 15March and this can be done here: www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/expressionofinterest
In October 2023, Clifton was awarded up to £20m of funding through the Long-Term Plan for Towns initiative. The Clifton Town Board will prepare a long-term plan for the area to be submitted for Government approval in the summer. The Government says priorities should include tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, improving transport connections and making high streets more attractive.
Stephen Hackney brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the community, making him an ideal advocate for Clifton in this pivotal role. Stephen has a proven track record of supporting community development, including helping to bring the Hope Centre back into use in Clifton which is providing a wide variety of community services.

Residents and stakeholders will have the opportunity to engage with members of the Board and input ideas to the long-term plan through community engagement activity later in 2024.
