Response from the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnerships which include the City and County Councils, the NHS via the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Nottinghamshire Police
We are shocked and appalled by the nature of the abuse that has come to light through this police investigation. While Jon Ruben has been sentenced today, we know the issues raised in this case are extremely upsetting and will understandably cause serious concerns within local communities. Our thoughts are with all of the children and families who have been impacted by Jon Ruben’s appalling breach of trust and the abuse he committed. All agencies continue to be focused on supporting the welfare of the children and families who are affected.
Any previous involvement Jon Ruben had with young people is the subject of an ongoing police investigation. The Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Partnerships are also undertaking a comprehensive multi-agency review and the findings will be published in full. We are unable to provide further comment while the investigation and review are ongoing.
