Visitors to Nottingham City Council’s leisure centres can be assured that health and safety standards are officially some of the very best in the country.
The Sport and Leisure team which manages the City Council’s leisure centres, has once again been recognised in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Award, achieving Gold in the leisure sector, further cementing their Overall Winner award in 2020.
The award, which recognises the hard work and dedication in ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience every time, is part of the internationally renowned and longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK, that receives entries from organisations around the world.
As part of the judging process, each organisation’s commitment to continually raising health and safety standards is closely scrutinised by the panel and last year only 9 organisations within the leisure sector were awarded a Gold.
Councillor Eunice Campbell-Clark, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Schools, said: “Year on year, the commitment to health and safety from our Sport and Leisure team has been recognised, including being crowned Overall Winner of the RoSPA Leisure Safety Trophy in 2020, so I’m delighted that the team has, once again achieved another Gold (RoSPA) leisure safety award this year.
Nottingham and the Sport and Leisure Service have an ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards and teams and colleagues work hard to ensure customers, visitors and our staff’s health and safety is a key priority, across our leisure centres, especially during these challenging times.
