Urgent works are due to take place on the junction of London Road and Queens Road near the train station to replace a BT manhole cover in serious need of repair, starting on Saturday 13 August.

The works, which will take around 10 days to complete, will address the failing steel plates around the BT manhole cover in the middle of the junction of London Road and Queens Drive, which leave it liable to collapse.

Works to address similar BT manhole covers have been taking place across the city and have been timed to occur during summer when there is less traffic. Nottingham City Council and BT apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, which we are aiming to keep to a minimum.

These works will affect drivers and commuters on northbound, southbound and westbound routes around the city centre and train station, so please consider using an alternative route or allowing more time for your journey. Any fans attending the Notts County home matches against Stevenage on Saturday 13 August and Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday 16 August, or the Nottingham Forest home match against Wigan Athletic on Saturday 20 August, are advised to leave additional time for their journeys.

The works will take place on London Road near Hooters bar and restaurant. Businesses in the area will receive details about the extent of the works.
