Council House Summer

Pupils from two Nottingham schools were invited to the Council House to discover more about a career in the public sector.

The Tomorrow’s Talent Day, organised by the City Council in partnership with the Local Government Association and recruitment specialist Manpower, gave the students an insight into the sort of roles on offer.

It also provided managers with the opportunity to understand how recruiting young people can have a really positive impact on their workforce.

A total of 24 youngsters from Bluecoat and Bulwell academies attended the hands-on event on Tuesday along with Councillor Sam Webster, Portfolio Holder for Schools at Nottingham City Council.

Staff from the authority were available to answer questions on working in the public sector and were able to promote the Council as an interesting and fulfilling place to work and build a career. Meanwhile, the pupils provided an idea of what they are looking for in a future employer.
