Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out planned resurfacing work on Newark Street and St Stephen’s Road in Sneinton.

The work will be taking place from the junction of Manvers Street to the junction of Manor Street. Work will begin on Monday 10 July and is expected to take around five days to complete, between the hours of 8am and 4pm each day.

To enable the road works to be carried out safely, a road closure and parking restrictions will be needed.  The council will ensure that residents always have access to their homes, although there may be short delays.

Councillor Sally Longford, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services and Local Transport, said: “This scheme forms part of the City Council’s highway maintenance programme and the work being carried out will ensure that Newark Street and St Stephen’s Road continue to be safe for all road users. We would like to thank people for their patience while works are carried out on our roads.

“Nottingham has one of the best integrated transport systems in the UK and proactive road maintenance works like this play a vital part in keeping the traffic moving, making roads safer and improving journey times. This is important for drivers, businesses and public transport.”
