Get mowing that lawn and pruning the plants – garden waste collections will soon start up again for Nottingham city residents!

For citizens living in the city that receive garden waste collections, their first collection of the year will take place on their normal recycling day week this week.

Councillor Nicola Heaton, Nottingham City Council Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “We are one of a few local authorities that still offer a free garden waste collection for our citizens and we are proud to be able to offer this service once again this year. This service provides our citizens with an easy way to dispose of their green waste and it enables us to recycle more.”

The key to recycling garden waste is that it is not contaminated by other waste products – so it is important for residents to ensure the brown lidded bin is empty of any rubbish.
