Motorists are being warned that Wollaton Street, Nottingham, will be closed at its junction with Canning Circus from 8am Saturday 29 April to 16:00 Monday 1 May 2017 to remove a tower crane from student accommodation being constructed at Talbot House.

A signed diversion will be in place to route all traffic from Canning Circus, Talbot Street and Clarendon Street. Advanced warning signs were put up on site on Friday 21 April. Local businesses and private residents will be able to gain pedestrian access at all times during the works.

Nottingham Forest is playing away at Queens Park Rangers and an EM-CON event will be taking place at the Motorpoint Arena which these works will have a minimal effect on. In advance of the works, letters have been sent to businesses and residents on Wollaton Street, Talbot Street, and Derby Street.

To supervise the works and reduce impact on local road users, a Senior Highways Officer will be on site throughout the day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday plus a desk operator will be working on the control desk all day Saturday to monitor traffic flows and to ease congestion if any should occur through traffic signals.

Information will be available on Nottingham City Council’s social media channels @MyNottingham including @Transport_Nottm and @NottmTravelwise.
