2017 Tickets Now On Sale
The music, the weather and the fantastic atmosphere made for a memorable Splendour enjoyed by the festival’s biggest ever 21,000 strong crowd in Wollaton Park on Saturday (23 July).
A day of musical highlights across the three stages was brought to a close with a dazzling set from Jess Glynne, who paid tribute to her parents as she headlined her first ever festival.
The line up at Splendour went down a storm as huge crowds at the Main and Confetti stages sang along all day to hits from UB40; The Human League and The Darkness.
BBC Radio Nottingham broadcast from the festival throughout the day; the ongoing partnership with Confetti saw Notts TV filming backstage interviews with the performers on top of a double decker open top bus while official radio partner GEM 106 provided a silent disco and a chill out area on site.
Splendour shows are scheduled to go out on Notts TV on 27 August, 3 & 10 Sept, with a special 630 show filmed at the festival and featuring interviews with fringe performers, artists and organisers going out this Friday 29 July.
The sell-out festival marked the biggest ever Splendour in its nine year history. Even with an additional 3,000 tickets on sale to meet the exceptional demand, ticket sales surpassed all previous years and sold out three days before event day.
Organised by DHP Family in partnership with Nottingham City Council, George Akins, DHP Family owner, was on site all day. He said: “We’re proud to have once again staged a hugely successful Splendour. The months of careful planning by DHP Family and Nottingham City Council paid off to make it an enjoyable experience on the day for everyone involved from the artists backstage to all the people who came to enjoy the music, comedy, food and fringe acts. Now we can’t wait to get started on putting together an amazing line up for next year’s big 10th birthday!”
Councillor Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “This year’s Splendour festival has been a fantastic success. Over 20,000 people have enjoyed amazing performances from Jess Glynne, The Human League, UB40 and all the other acts. I’d like to give my thanks to the City Council’s Events team who have worked so hard to set up and run this event in Wollaton Park along with our partner DHP Family. Nottingham has a great reputation for its music scene and Splendour festival showcases that talent.

Tickets for next year’s 10th birthday festival went on sale on Saturday at 8pm. With the date confirmed as Saturday 22 July 2017, it is expected many will take advantage of the opportunity to make sure they don’t miss out on the city’s biggest summer day out. Children under 10 will once again be admitted free, and City Card discounts are also in place for Nottingham residents.
