December wouldn’t be the same without the annual race for Christmas number one – and Sing it Bold Community Gospel Choir are set to be Christmas number one – at least in local hearts.

‘Now’, the Christmas single released by the choir will raise money for Nottingham charity Emmanuel House. They do great work supporting homeless and vulnerable adults in Nottingham, running a Day Centre on Goose Gate, a charity shop next door, and the Nottingham Winter Shelter.

Emmanuel House accommodates around 2000 visits a month, with approximately 200 new visitors a year, all of whom have complex and multiple needs. With roughly 70 hot meals a day served, they do a huge amount every day to help those in need in Nottingham.

Nottingham Together – a programme of activities to connect communities, bring people together and make Nottingham a great place to live, has funded the production of the single – so all proceeds will go to charity.

The Sing it Bold Community Gospel Choir was formed earlier this year by founding members Melissa and Adrian. The ever-expanding community is made up of budding sopranos from all backgrounds, faiths – and singing ability!

Councillor Toby Neal, Portfolio Holder for Community Protection at Nottingham City Council said: “It’s fantastic to see members of the local community lending their voices to a great cause. Emmanuel House do so much to help homeless and vulnerable people in Nottingham – I hope everyone will join me in supporting them and this single.”
