Nottingham City Council is proud to present the launch of the newly refurbished playground at Radford Recreation Ground on 17 August 11am – 1pm, with fun and free activities and games..

The new playground has been funded by both WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental) and local ward councillors to improve the area for residents.

The playground refurbishment has included:

• Renovating existing swings and adding new, different swings
• Brand new play equipment for both toddler and juniors
• Improved surfacing round equipment

This has also formed part of a wider site improvement that has included:

• A brand new outdoor gym has been installed
• New signage and noticeboards on site
• Picnic benches
• Repairs to the cricket net

The playground will be formally launched by Cllr Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council and local Ward Councillor Anne Peach. The event will also celebrate the park achieving the prestigious Green Flag mark of quality.

There will be lots of fun and free activities on the day, including Archery, face painting and an ice cream van on site.

Cllr Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “I am delighted that the playground has been improved for local residents, the new play area caters for both toddlers and juniors and the outdoor gym is a positive addition to the area.
