London Road junction set for essential road resurfacing

Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out planned resurfacing works on London Road at the junction with Meadow Lane and Truman’s Road.

The work will begin on Sunday 19th July and is due to be completed on Thursday 23rd July. Apart from Sunday 19th July when the work will be carried out between 9am and 11pm, all other working times will be restricted to the night time hours between 6pm and 11pm each night.

Temporary lights will be used to manage traffic so road users should allow extra time for journeys. During the work, a short section of Meadow Lane from Meadow Close to London Road will be closed to through traffic in both directions. A diversion will be will place and operate between Meadow Lane, County Road and Cattle Market Road.

Councillor Nick McDonald, Portfolio Holder for Growth, Jobs and Transport at Nottingham City Council, said: “This scheme forms part of the City Council’s highway maintenance programme and the work being carried out will ensure that London Road continues to be safe for all road users. To minimise disruption this work will take place outside of peak traffic hours but this is a busy route, so there will be some delays to traffic flow which may cause inconvenience. We thank road users and local residents in advance for their cooperation in helping us carry out these important works.”
