Roadworks currently taking place near Nottingham Racecourse will be suspended to ease traffic flow for events taking place this weekend.

Road improvements are currently underway along the A612 Daleside Road / Colwick Loop Road, with traffic management arrangements in place.

But the City Council is ensuring no work will take place on Friday from 3.30pm or all day on Saturday and will be removing traffic management so the usual road layout can be used. This is to ease the flow of traffic that is expected for racing and a beer festival on Friday evening and the Ladies Day racing event which takes place at Nottingham Racecourse on Saturday afternoon. Council staff will be in place at key periods to help traffic leaving the Racecourse.

These events have previously caused traffic build-up and so motorists are advised to be aware of the potential for delays and to use alternative routes if possible. The arrangements being put in place aim to ensure the roadworks don’t contribute to delays and that traffic is managed at peak times.
