Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out essential planned resurfacing work on Edwards Lane. Work will start on Thursday 27 July and take around 14 days to complete. Resurfacing will take place from the junction of Oxclose Lane to the junction of Ribblesdale Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday

The work has been timed to take place during the school holidays when there is less traffic on the roads to keep disruption at a minimum.

Edwards Lane will be closed to through traffic so please allow extra time for any journeys. A diversion using the A6514 Valley Road, A611 Hucknall Road and B6004 Arnold Road will be in place and access to side streets will be restricted, however residents will always have access to their property, albeit with some delay at times.

Due to the nature of the work, on-street parking will also be restricted within the works area. These restrictions will only be in place between 08.00 and 16.00 each day and notices will be placed as a reminder of the parking restrictions at least 24 hours before the enforcements begin. All other parking will be in place for use within these times. Please remember, it is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure they are not parking in restricted areas.

Bus diversions will be in place during working hours but normal services will resume during the evenings. Nottingham City Transport Services 87, 88 and 89 (Purple line) will not stop on Edwards Lane (between A6514 Valley Road and B6004 Oxclose Lane) and buses will instead divert along the A6514 Valley Road, A611 Hucknall Road and B6004 Arnold Road.

For more information on NCT bus diversions and services during the works please visit www.nctx.co.uk

The L9 Local Link bus service will also be diverted during the works. To Hillington Rise buses will divert along Valley Road, A611 Hucknall Road, B6004 Arnold Road and Longmead Drive. For Longmead Drive buses will divert along B6004 Arnold Road, A611 Hucknall Road, A6514 Valley Road and Edwards Lane.

Nottingham City Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks people for their patience.
