Councillor Nicola Heaton, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at Nottingham City Council, said: “Due to the bank holidays over Christmas and New Year we have to change our collection schedule. We are reminding residents to make a note of their new collection day so they put their bin out on the right day to avoid their bins being missed.

“Many households have extra waste during the Christmas period so it is really important that they put their bin out for collection so extra waste does not mount up. If residents do have extra waste, they can bag this up securely and put it out with their green household waste bin, not their recycling bin.

“As always we encourage residents to try and minimise their waste and recycle as much as possible.”

Residents are also reminded to have their bin out for collection by 7am and be aware that severe weather may affect collections.
