Two days of exciting events are taking place later this month to celebrate and honour our Armed Forces.

Wollaton Park will play host to Armed Forces Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28. All activities are free and will be on offer between 10am and 4pm.

There will be an array of exciting shows, re-enactments, K9 dog displays and live music to captivate old and young, with performances from the Wartime Music Show and Johnny Victory.

The event will be opened by The Band of the Royal Air Force College, playing with permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council. Other entertainment includes:

• Wartime Music Show, including the Military Wives at 11.30 am on Saturday
• 508 Re-enactment Camp
• 1940s canteen
• Fairground
• Army Beer Tent
• Forces equipment
• A flyover by the Dakota aeroplane on Saturday and Sunday

Councillor David Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “This fantastic event offers a great day out in Nottingham for everyone, young and old, with a great programme of free entertainment. Most importantly, it recognises the contribution that our Armed Forces have made and continue to make.”

Visit www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/armedforces for the full programme of events. While the event is free, there is a £5 parking charge.
